Co-founder and Managing Partner of BC Partners between 1987 and 2005, Michel has participated in a number of the largest deals in Europe in the last 25 years. He joined BC Partners from Thomson SA, where he was Chief Executive of the commercial refrigeration division. Prior to this, he was the Chief Executive of Lohr SA, a car transporter manufacturer. He has also 8 years’ experience investing in unlisted companies at IDI. He holds an engineering degree from the Swiss Institute of Technology and an MBA from INSEAD.
Managing Director of UNIMA, a Malagasy-based group of 15 companies in Madagascar and Europe specialized in high quality shrimp-fishing and breeding. Over his ten years at UNIMA, he occupied different positions before becoming its Managing Director. Previously he was financial analyst at BFCE in New York. He studied at Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales.
CEO of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) between 2001 and 2010. He has previously been the Director responsible for international development at the French Ministry of Cooperation, Director for Central Europe and then Vice President for Asia at the World Bank (1996-2001). Jean Michel graduated from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration and is General Inspector of Finances (French Ministry of Finance).
Founder of Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) in 1988, one of the largest mezzanine funds in Europe with over €8 billion under management, and Managing Director until 2004. Jean-Loup is now an advisor and director for a few private equity funds in a non-executive capacity. He has also conducted a number of investments on his own account in private companies where he is also a member of the board. Jean-Loup has an MBA from London Business School.
